The Culture of Goa include several festivals that are an integral part of the Goan life. The festivals include Christmas, Easter Sunday, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, New Year's Day, Shigmo and the Carnival.

Music play an important part of the rich Culture of Goa. The traditional western English song are much loved in all parts of Goa. Many people also love the traditional Konkani music which can be described as the music of the soil. The Culture of Goa include Manddo, a traditional Goan music. This music was originated in the nineteenth century. On special occasions songs and dances based on this traditional Goan music form is performed. The Goan Trance music is another important part of the Culture of Goa.

When in the year 2006 All India Radio stated a program called Goan Top 10, it was found that the song Faithful which is sung by Lobo is a popular favorite of the people of Goa. It was aldo found that Goan have a ear for pop music, soft rock and ballads. The Culture of Goa also has several dance forms. The ball is one of the popular Culture of Goa. Apart from these dekhnni, Fugdi and corridinho are the other dance forms practices in Goa.



The unique Culture of Goa can also be felt through a gastronomical journey through its exotic cuisine. The staple food of Goa is rice and fish curry. The food palate of Goa includes a variety of fish that are cooked up with elaborate recipes. The Goan food also have an extensive use of Coconut and coconut oil. The chili pepper, spice and vinegar gives the food a distinct taste and flavor. The food of Goa include several Pork dishes like Vindaloo, Xacuti and Soprotel. During the Christmas a egg based multi layered sweet dish named Bebinca is served. The popular alcoholic beverage of Goa is Feni.

The architecture of Goa is also a part of the Culture of Goa. The mansions and historical heritage sites are build in the Goa-Portuguese style. Some of the Indo-Portuguese style mansions still stand tall in Goa to commemorate the Portuguese rule. The Mangueshi Temple was also built with a Portuguese influence in its architecture. However the temple was demolished and again rebuild in the traditional Hindu style in the year 1961. in some mansions the Muslim influence can also be seen. But the most strong influence on the Culture of Goa is the Portuguese influence.
